Our story
A word with deep roots.
The name Aluna comes from the Kogi people of Colombia's Sierra Nevada — one of the few indigenous cultures whose isolation has preserved both their language and their worldview largely intact.
To the Kogi, aluna is the mind, the intelligence, and the spirit inside nature. They understand Earth as a living, breathing entity — and all who share it as kin.
That belief is the foundation of this practice. Not just in name — but in how we approach every visit, every patient, every family.
"The health of animals and people is inseparable from the health of the world they live in."
Aluna was founded on the belief that veterinary care has drifted too far from the things that make it meaningful — continuity, presence, community, trust.
We're a small practice, and we intend to stay that way. Strong foundations come from starting local: one visit, one patient, one healthy outcome at a time.
